obsessed with villains who you just KNOW are aware deep down in their heart that they’ve done something unforgivable, but the only way to never admit that or face the guilt is to keep doing it over and over again until they don’t feel guilty about that first time anymore

Amphibia, a beautiful tragedy

i know it’s usually done as a joke, but scooby doo inspired au actually sounds like good plot.

hear me out. Shuichi, Kaito, Maki, and Kaede work together as a group of teen detectives- Shuichi being the only one with real training. They solve mysterys entierly illegally, going for various cases the legally running teams are ignoring or gave up on or have been payed to brush under the rug. they’re effectively vigilante teen detectives.

and if you want a Scooby style character to lighten the seriousness? Kokichi. this clown found this gang of illegal detectives and went “huh, that looks interesting, i’m going to bother them” and just never left thereafter. not a dog, but just as silly goofy and sticks around one specific team member the most (shu, obvi).

Kaito and Maki in particular don’t like him and want him to leave, but between him making Shuichi happier than they’ve ever seen him for some unknown reason, and him sometimes helping with clues or playing as an excelent destracrion- they can’t really kick him out either. Kaede is pretty neutral, it depends on what he’s doing and how patient she is that day.

so yeah, scooby doo makes for a pretty decent au insparation if you shift it enough for it to fit the characters

Anonymous asked: Gg au where mechanicsburg is ancient ruins for who knows what reason

iztarshi:

  1. To be ancient ruins it really can’t have been around that long. Maybe a few hundred years post-Faustus and BAM. Let’s say they razed the newly established Wulfenbach and found out what can happen when a Wulfenbach takes things personally.
  2. The Heterodynes have been nomads since. They came from nomadic stock once, after all. The number of their minions has dwindled, but they still have the Jägers. They’re a terror of the forest, not hiding so much as lurking, striking unexpectedly to carry off food and mechanical equipment.
  3. They’re not as powerful as they were when they had Mechanicsburg and thus, perforce, more subtle. Dyne water is used exclusively for making more Jägers and the trip to get it is made by Jägers. To be chosen to make it is a great and often fatal honour.
  4. Everyone watches Mechanicsburg. There are still castles around it from the Storm King era and earlier, and later. Do you want to let the Heterodynes have a base again?
  5. Bill and Barry were still heroes and still Heterodynes, but they were able to leave their father’s control without murder being necessary. No Castle, no town, nothing to confine them just as much as there’s nothing to rule.
  6. But Agatha wants to be rooted and she needs a base. She needs somewhere to hold off Klaus, just as she does in canon, and if the Castle has been mad and broken for much, much longer it’s still hers. Everyone watches the ways in to Mechanicsburg, but the Jägers have been able to reach the Dyne before. They know the way.
  7. Mechanicsburg is ancient ruins, but even a phoenix dead for centuries can rise at the touch of fire.

I think I finally sussed out why I don’t like the idea of Otilia becoming a nanny or caregiver to the Heterodyne children, or really any young children. It, like most things, comes down in the end to Lucrezia.

Okay so this may be completely off base but it has been bugging me for months. TL;DR I had a weird thought and now want to write a fanfic of Agatha having a twin sister that basically acts like Tarvek or one of his relatives.

KB lives au where the locket thing plays out more or less the same as it ever does with the exception of the elder clay siblings general existence, purely because i think it would be quite funny if sheer force of big-brotherism and ph my god fuck my dad/uncle compels KB to angrily swear revenge on the concept of… heroism… but he’s so comically bad at taking after the old heterodynes that his overtures just swing back around to equally comical feats of heroism. agatha is both a stronger spark (naturally) and a fair bit more grounded then her brother is (thank goodness) but regardless, the clownery is… a lot. but the jaegers are having fun.

the heterodyne siblings…. 2! vs, anyone who ever had a heterodyne girl agenda are fighting in the streets.
